HISTORY
1800: in the first decades of the nineteenth century, thanks to the development of the seaside tourism, Leghorn had become a very popular destination, visited by Italian and international bourgeoisie., favoring the development of important tourist facilities such as the Casini d’Ardenza, Palazzo Caprilli and the Hotel Palazzo, Also known as Palace Hotel.
1884: the realization of the vast building was commissioned by Bernardo Fabbricotti. The hotel, designed by Enrico Azzati, was opened in June 1884 and was afterwards entrusted to the management of the knight J. Spatz for some years, from which momentarily it took the name.
1898: in 1898 the hotel was closed down and then, during the Second World War, the building was very damaged: when the southern side of this beautiful structure was partially destroyed. Only 2004 imposing restructuring works was started to bring the structure back to its original condition.
